Q: Is this
water balloon launcher expensive to build?
A:
Nooo!
The most expensive part on the launcher is the solenoid valve which runs
around 25 US dollars at most. All other materials cost between 50 cents
to 2 dollars. To build a fully operation sniper rifle with all the accessories
you’re looking at around 60 - 80 US dollars depending on where you go to
buy the materials.
Q:Where
can I find the materials?
A:
You
can find most of the materials you need at your local hardware store. If
there is a Home Depot, Lowes, or any other large hardware chain go there
since they tend to have cheaper prices. You can get the tire valve at most
any automotive store. I went to Pep Boys.
Q: Is this
thing safe?
A:
The
question depends on who is asking it. This gun could be lethal in the hands
of irresponsible or careless people. In the hands of a responsible person,
this gun is 100% safe. Probably the biggest concern of most people is the
fear of the air chamber exploding on them because of too much pressure.
Believe me though, since you wont be pumping it up any higher than around
60 psi(pounds per square inch) and 2" diameter schedule 40 PVC pipe is
rated around 260 psi, there is no way it’s going to blow up. Of course
if you weaken the plastic by smashing it against a rock repeatedly really
hard then it might break. Just use your head and treat it with the respect
it deserves. And NEVER give into peer pressure; if you don’t think your
friend is mature enough to handle this launcher don’t let him touch it!
Q: How
far does it shoot?
A:
Every
gun varies. Factors to take into consideration include barrel length, air
chamber capacity, psi pressure, and the barrel to chamber ratio. On average
however my sniper rifle shoots around 200+ yards at full pressure, but
I rarely shoot past 100 yards though when sniping. Typically I aim for
targets around 50 yards away, which is far enough for you to shoot them,
and if you miss, you have PLENTY of time to make your getaway.
Q: Is the
water balloon launcher effective?
A:
This
depends on who is using it. In the hands of a veteran sniper the water
balloon launcher can single handedly change the outcome of a seemingly
lost fight. I have used this gun with me against 5 other guys my age in
a fight with the standard rules and I have risen
to victory numerous times.
Q: How
long does it take before I can be considered a veteran sniper?
A:
This
is kind of an ambiguous question and there is no one way to answer it.
Since your skill is measured against the skill of the players around you,
I guess you could be considered a veteran sniper if your skill is greater
than at least five of your opponents at any given time.
